This is a tasting of a partial extract beer I made which is a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Clone. After the tasting, I discuss home brewing for beginners, and what to watch out for. A special guest also has something to say about this.

Another review of a tasty beverage. Here’s our take on Shorts Huma-Lupa-Licious, their IPA. It’s a really hoppy beer, that’s a tad on the unbalanced side. Short’s puts out a good beer – unfortunately their distribution is sort of lacking. We both thought this beer was alright, but not great. Here’s the stats: A complex malt and hop theme park in your mouth Named after the hop flower Humulus Lupulus, this India Pale Ale style beer has enormous amounts of hop bitterness, flavor and aroma. With a very complex malt bill, flavors seem to meld with the hops to balance this ale and provide a ridiculous urge to sample more. ABV – 7%
mikesbrewreview.com Siphoning wort into a fermenter can be a really difficult task for people new to brewing beer. Transferring beer or wort is a delicate process because you are now in a temperature zone that you really want to protect from outside bacteria. That means that every time you open your beer up to the air or stick something into the beer you put it at risk of being infected. So one way to minimize this risk is to siphon your beer quickly from one vessel to the next. There are a few different options and some are better than others. I’ve found an auto siphon to be the best option. However, I’d love to hear what you use. Visit mikesbrewreview.com for more homebrewing tips and entertainment!
Fifteen minutes to make beer? Yes, that’s all it takes to make it this way. I’ve been making MR Beer like this for years, but now I’m showing you exactly how I do it. This method is handy if you just want to try a Mr. Beer refill kit as cheaply as possible to see if you will like it. But it’s also a handy way to put up additional Mr. Beers if your Mr. Beer fermenter is already in use, no need to limit yourself to ony one Mr. Beer fermenting away, lol. If you don’t believe this works just as good as the traditional way, I challenge you to try it. Please buy your Mr. Beer products via the Mr. Beer button on my website at SteelJan.com. It won’t cost you any more, but I will make a few cents off of the sale. Thank you very much. All products used in this video I purchased, full-price. No one at Mr. Beer okay’d the way I made the beer on this video. Matter of fact, they might have a cow over it, LOL!! Big shout-out to all my youtube brewing buddies – we really have a great community here. Always fun pushing the edge of the envelope on home brewing.
